| About the author Brian Good was born in Milton, Massachusett, the third child of eight children. One of reasons I was conceived is because my mother had a miscarriage in the first trimester. My mother, Mary said I was conceived after my parents had an argument brought on by God no doubt. I had twelve years of parochial education but there was no such thing as special education so I struggled through the system. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Boston where I received a liberal arts degree in Management and Economics. I starting working after school at the age of thirteen which paid for my education at Boston College High School in Boston, Massachusetts. During my twenties I had three malfunctions skydiving plus another malfunction that was the result of the automatic opening device deploying my reserve at just over 6000 feet while doing a four way diamond with three other skydivers. At the age of twenty-six, I was diagnosed with stage three testicular cancer, the most advanced stage of the disease in which I had only months to live. The doctors at the New England medical center told me I had a six pound inoperable tumor between my abdomen and spine that was doubling every two months. The cancer would have been twelve pounds, two months after it was discovered and twenty-four pounds, four months after my cancer was diagnosed.
Respect the gift that God gave all of us. Life. I am very blessed to be alive. There is no doubt that I should be dead. |
